1:1 Newcastle 1996/97 Home Shirt
Home shirt as worn when the Magpies recorded back to back 2nd place finishes under the management of Kevin Keegan, the summer of ‘96 saw the club bring home Alan Shearer for a then world record fee of £15m. Led by the exhilarating partnership of Shearer and Ferdinand, Newcastle started the season in scintillating form, topping the league table for much of the campaign. However, a late-season slump allowed Manchester United to overtake them in the title race. Despite finishing as runners-up in the Premier League, Newcastle's achievements were celebrated as they secured a Champions League spot.
